Air forces from across NATO exercised nuclear deterrence capabilities over north-western Europe from 17 to 30 October 2022. Exercise Steadfast Noon is an established and recurring training activity that is not linked to any current world events.
60 aircraft of various types, including fourth and fifth generation fighter jets, as well as surveillance and tanker aircraft from 14 countries took part in the exercise to test their nuclear deterrence capabilities. This exercise occurs every year and is hosted by a different country each time. This year, training flights took place over host-country, Belgium, as well as over the North Sea and the United Kingdom.
