SOUNDBITE IN ENGLISH

US Marine Corps Staff Sgt Lopez

"I am Staff Sgt Lopez and I'm a drill instructor at US Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. I'm here to do what I do best: give you some encouragement and motivation, Marine Corps style.

If you're feeling alone right now, millions of other people feel just like you do right now. And they get through it the same way you're gonna get through it: one day at a time. Stay strong. Think positive. And stay healthy. Stay at home until it's safe to venture out again. Remember, this isn't just about you. It's about everyone around you.

The Marine Corps motto is Semper Fidelis, “Always Faithful”. That's not sometimes faithful, or faithful when it feels good. Today, I want you to be faithful for a friend. Check in on them. Make sure they're doing alright. Let them know you got their six. Remind them, this won't last forever. And you're gonna get through this together. We’re gonna be alright."
