AUDIO DESCRIPTION
--SOUNDBITE—(ENGLISH) Major Dwayne Milburn, Commander, U.S. Army Europe Band and Chorus
“Music is truly a universal language. It speaks to people regardless of where they are.”
--SOUNDBITE—(ENGLISH) Major Dwayne Milburn, Commander, U.S. Army Europe Band and Chorus
“In the United States Army the bands started out as they did in many countries, as signal devices. The bugle calls and the drums were used to move people around the battlefield and they eventually evolved into what we have now.”
--SOUNDBITE—(ENGLISH) Major Dwayne Milburn, Commander, U.S. Army Europe Band and Chorus
“We are morale support for families when loved ones are deployed. We handle first and last honours for servicemembers and we travel all over the world to act as a cultural outreach for the United States and the United States Army.”
--SOUNDBITE—(ENGLISH) Major Dwayne Milburn, Commander, U.S. Army Europe Band and Chorus
“I grew up in a musical family so the opportunity to do this in different places in the world that my parents would never see, is always pretty special when I go out on stage and work with our soldiers and help bringing our message to the public regardless of where we are.”
--SOUNDBITE—(ENGLISH) Major Dwayne Milburn, Commander, U.S. Army Europe Band and Chorus
“We have far more things in common than there are different and those are the conversations that we like to start with our music and the more that we can find things in common I think the better off the world will be.”
